Tests, surgery and follow-up happen in the same clinic, so you are not sent across town for a scan. Tap any item to see what it involves.

Tests and scans

Auto-refractometer

Reads your glasses prescription in a few seconds. It is the starting point; the final prescription is checked by hand.

Ask about this
Air-puff tonometry

Measures the pressure inside the eye without touching it. Raised pressure is the main warning sign for glaucoma.

Ask about this
Keratometry

Measures the curve of the cornea. Needed for contact lens fitting and for choosing a cataract lens implant.

Ask about this
A and B scan ultrasound

An A-scan measures the length of the eye. A B-scan shows the retina when a dense cataract or bleeding blocks the normal view.

Ask about this
Optical coherence tomography (OCT)

Cross-section pictures of the retina and optic nerve. Used for macular disease, diabetic eye disease and glaucoma.

Ask about this
IOL Master

Optical measurement that calculates the power of the lens implant before cataract surgery, so you see well afterwards.

Ask about this
Computerised visual field test

Maps your side vision point by point. Used to find and follow glaucoma and optic nerve problems.

Ask about this
Pachymetry

Measures the thickness of the cornea. Checked before LASIK or PRK and when reading eye pressure.

Ask about this

Treatment and surgery

Refraction and glasses

A full eye test for glasses. Useful if you work at a screen all day and your eyes ache by evening.

Ask about this
Children's eye care

Vision checks, glasses and treatment for lazy eye in children. Problems caught before school age are much easier to treat.

Ask about this
Squint treatment

Assessment and treatment of eyes that do not line up, in children and adults.

Ask about this
Phacoemulsification (cataract)

The cloudy lens is broken up with ultrasound and removed through a small cut, then replaced with a folding lens implant. Usually no stitches.

Ask about this
Femto laser cataract surgery

A femtosecond laser makes the openings and softens the cataract before it is removed.

Ask about this
Glaucoma treatment

Drops, laser or surgery to lower eye pressure and protect the optic nerve. Lost vision does not come back, so early checks matter.

Ask about this
Anti-VEGF injections

Injections into the eye for wet macular degeneration, diabetic swelling of the retina and retinal vein blockage.

Ask about this
Retinal degeneration

Diagnosis and long-term care for macular degeneration and other conditions that wear down the retina.

Ask about this
Retinal detachment surgery

Surgery to put the retina back in place. Sudden flashes, a shower of floaters or a shadow over your vision need a same-day check.

Ask about this
Pars plana vitrectomy

Removes the gel inside the eye to treat bleeding, detachment, macular holes and scar membranes.

Ask about this
Eye injury repair

Repair of injuries to the eye and eyelids. Call before you come so we are ready for you.

Ask about this
Ptosis surgery

Lifts a drooping upper eyelid that covers part of your vision or makes you look tired.

Ask about this
Orbit and oculoplastic surgery

Surgery of the eyelids, tear ducts and the bony socket around the eye.

Ask about this

Laser

LASIK

Reshapes the cornea under a thin flap to correct short sight, long sight and astigmatism, so you can stop wearing glasses.

Ask about this
PRK

Laser correction on the surface of the cornea with no flap. Often the better choice for thinner corneas.

Ask about this
YAG laser

Clears the hazy film that can form behind a lens implant months or years after cataract surgery. Takes a few minutes.

Ask about this
Retinal laser

Seals leaking vessels and weak spots in the retina, for diabetic eye disease and retinal tears.

Ask about this

Eyelid and aesthetic

Upper and lower blepharoplasty

Removes extra skin and fat from the eyelids, including bags under the eyes.

Ask about this
Brow lift

Raises a low brow that is pressing down on the upper eyelid.

Ask about this
Botox and fillers

For crow's feet, frown lines and hollows under the eyes.

Ask about this
Periocular rejuvenation

Treatments for the skin around the eyes, planned together rather than one at a time.

Ask about this
Aesthetic eyelid surgery

Eyelid reshaping done by an eye surgeon, so how the eye works is protected as well as how it looks.
